The Freight Services Officer plays a key role in delivering a friendly, professional, and engaging reservations and booking service to our international freight customers, setting Qantas Freight apart from its competitors. This position also involves preparing accurate export flight plans, monitoring inbound freight shipments, and coordinating with third-party Ground Handling Agents to ensure compliance with load instructions. Additionally, the role includes office administration tasks such as drafting and editing internal and external communications, as well as managing the cataloguing, filing, and archiving of important documents like rating and invoicing information. The Freight Services Officer will also conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends and customer needs. This role is part of a small, collaborative, and inclusive team handling enquiries for the rest of the Region and working with different time zones You’ll Have Minimum 1 years’ experience in either an airline, freight forwarder or ground handling warehouse environment
Proficient in both written and spoken English
Proficient in Microsoft 365/Office suite of products, particularly Excel.
Experience with an Air Freight booking platform (such as Webcargo or Cargo1) and/or Salesforce experience would be very highly regarded.
Ability and passion for building constructive working partnerships with all levels of customer, supplier and internal stakeholders
Demonstrated analytical skills, knowledge of Power BI would be an advantage
Ability to work Saturdays and Sundays when required (usually every 6/7 weeks)
The ability to work independently, be self-motivated and disciplined while completing tasks with a high degree of accuracy
