Position OverviewnnWe are seeking an experienced Accountant with strong project and team management skills to join our construction and interior design company. The ideal candidate will oversee the company’s full accounting cycle—covering project cost control, financial reporting, and team coordination—to ensure transparency, compliance, and profitability across multiple ongoing projects. nnKey Responsibilitiesn1. Financial & Accounting ManagementnnMaintain accurate financial records including general ledger, accounts payablereceivable, payroll, and project costing. nnPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with local accounting standards. nnHandle VAT computation, submission, and reconciliation according to Bahrain regulations. nnManage cash flow forecasting and monitor bank reconciliations. nnCoordinate annual audits and liaise with external auditors and tax authorities. nn2. Project Accounting & Cost ControlnnMonitor budgets, track project expenditures, and report cost variances against approved budgets. nnWork closely with project managers to prepare progress billing, verify subcontractor invoices, and ensure timely payments. nnMaintain project-based profitability reports and highlight potential cost overruns or savings. nnEnsure accurate allocation of materials, labor, and overhead to specific projects. nn3. Team & Process ManagementnnSupervise junior accountants and site admin staff in maintaining project documentation and petty cash records. nnImplement and enforce accounting systems, policies, and internal controls. nnSupport management with financial insights for decision-making, tender pricing, and project forecasting. nnFoster collaboration between finance, procurement, and project departments to streamline operations. nn4. Reporting & AnalysisnnPrepare monthly management reports including project performance, cash flow, and profitability summaries. nnDevelop dashboards and cost-tracking systems for management visibility. nnProvide ad-hoc financial analysis for new bids, proposals, and investment evaluations. nnQualificationsnnBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPAACCA certification is a plus). nnMinimum 5 years of experience in accounting within the construction, joinery, or interior design industry. nnStrong knowledge of project-based accounting, cost allocation, and ERPQuickBooksTally systems. nnExcellent understanding of Bahrain VAT and financial compliance standards. nnProficiency in Microsoft Excel and project reporting tools. nnStrong communication, analytical, and leadership skills. nnPersonal AttributesnnDetail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving. nnStrong organizational and multitasking skills. nnAble to manage and mentor a small finance team. nnHigh integrity, reliability, and accountability.
