High English proficiency required Role Summary:
This role revolves around paperback and hardcover book production, and requires expert proficiency in MS Word, Adobe Illustrator and Acrobat, printing knowledge, and fluent spoken English. Key Responsibilities:
-Typesetting: Format manuscripts in MS Word and prepare print-ready PDFs using Adobe Acrobat/Adobe InDesign.
-Printing: Operate printers to produce textblocks and covers (color calibration, trimming).
-Cover Design: Work with the Graphic Designer to adjust covers in Adobe Illustrator (spine calculations, bleed).
-Binding: Signature bind and perfect bind text blocks, then assemble them to covers
-Quality Control: Inspect all outputs for defects. Essential Requirements:
Advanced skills in:
-MS Word
-Adobe Illustrator
-Adobe Acrobat.
-Adobe InDesign is a major plus. Technical Skills:
-Digital printing
-Bookbinding (perfect binding, signatures, gluing, trimming) Communication: -Fluent spoken English is a must. Detail-Oriented: Precision in assembly and quality checks
