About the job Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining Oracle database environments to ensure reliability, performance, and security. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to support business-critical systems and implementing best practices for database management and optimization. Key Responsibilities: Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle databases (Single Instance and RAC) on Linux and Windows environments.
Mana database patches and updates to ensure compliance and compatibility.
Set up and manage Oracle Data Guard for database replication and failover.
Implement and maintain Oracle RAC for high availability and load balancing.
Develop and test Disaster Recovery (DR) plans, including cloud-based DR solutions.
Monitor and tune database performance at the OS, instance, and SQL levels.
Identify and resolve bottlenecks to ensure optimal database performance.
Design and implement backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and Data Pump.
Conduct regular backup testing to validate recovery plans.
Implement security best practices, including user access control, roles, and auditing.
Ensure database compliance with regulatory standards, organizational policies and GDPR.
Monitor database health, capacity, and performance using Oracle Enterprise Manager or similar tools.
Investigate and resolve database-related incidents promptly.
Write and maintain scripts (e.g., Shell, SQL, or PL/SQL) for database maintenance and automation tasks.
Install and manage Oracle WebLogic Server (11g/12 c) in single and clustered configurations.
Manage Oracle Linux virtualization environments using KVM is a plus.
Document database architecture, processes, and configurations.
Prepare regular reports on database performance, incidents, and capacity planning. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
A minimum of 35 years of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA.
Prior experience in managing high-availability environments and disaster recovery setups.
Relevant Oracle certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional – OCP) are a plus
Strong knowledge of Oracle database architecture and administration (11g/12c/19 c).
Experience with Oracle Data Guard and RAC, ASM are a plus.
Expertise in performance tuning and troubleshooting.
Familiarity with Oracle WebLogic Server and middleware components.
Working knowledge of Linux and Windows OS, including shell scripting.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a team-oriented and collaborative environment
