
Carpenters onboard cruise ships are responsible for maintaining, repairing, and constructing wooden structures and furnishings throughout the vessel. This role ensures that all carpentry-related work is carried out efficiently and safely, adhering to the cruise line’s standards and maritime regulations. Key Responsibilities: Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and installations of wooden fixtures, furniture, paneling, and flooring. Construct, modify, and refurbish furniture, cabinets, and other wooden structures as needed. Respond promptly to repair requests from various departments, including guest areas, crew quarters, and public spaces. Ensure all carpentry work meets safety and quality standards, following maritime regulations. Assist with damage control in case of emergencies, such as leaks or structural issues. Work with other departments, including Engineering and Housekeeping, to maintain shipboard aesthetics and functionality. Maintain an inventory of carpentry tools, materials, and equipment, ensuring they are stored properly and in good condition. Adhere to safety procedures, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following onboard protocols. Qualifications & Experience: Proven experience as a Carpenter, preferably in marine, hospitality, or commercial settings. Strong skills in woodworking, cabinetry, and furniture repair. Knowledge of different types of wood, adhesives, and finishing techniques. Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and follow work orders. Experience using power tools and hand tools safely and effectively.
