Job Description
• Install, test, maintain, and repair substation electrical C.B, CT,VT & mechanical apparatus (e.g. earthing switches, interlocks) using appropriate tools to ensure equipment is in proper operating condition.
Full understanding and aware of protection techniques and equipment operations of Schneider electric, Tozi Sud QEM and AB switchgear.
• Preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical equipment. Document all testing, maintenance and repairs. Including but not limited to: transfer switches and circuit breakers (interrupting media SF6, air).
• Perform adjustments or repairs on defective equipment as needed using appropriate tools (e.g., hand tools, high voltage electrical tools, hot sticks) ot ensure equipment reliability.
Performs additional duties as required to support department goals and projects.
Required Education
• Certificate from a high school or equivalent combined with a course to qualify as a skilled senior technician .
Experience & Skills:
• Expert for troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing switchgear/ATS and circuit breakers.
• Ten years of work experience in the installation, operation and maintenance of electrical switchgear equipment.
• Knows the principles of electrical power distribution and utility load management applications.
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills & customer relation skills.
Complete and deliver accurate reports and information as required.
