Job Summary:
Under the broad guidance of Communication and social media specialist and in the framework of IMC procedures set at HQ level, assumes responsibility for supporting the implementation of communication strategies to promote IMC Libya and its specific activities, and documentation of IMC Libya achievements under different awards.
Main Tasks:
– Work with the Field team, including the field site manager, FS officer, doctors, nurses, and others) to gather stories, quotes, and other content to support the creation of insightful and impactful human-interest stories.
– Provide inputs on communication for the development and implementation of success stories, in addition to liaising with the field staff team to identify topics/stories for communications content.
– Support in conducting interviews with local authorities, community leaders, and beneficiaries.
– Take photos and videos of relevant program on-field operations alongside the usage of consent forms, in addition to the ability to use photo editing and graphic design software to add appropriate headings, logos, or graphics to photos.
– Assemble and maintain the International Medical Corps Libya photo bank alongside using photo-video submission forms.
– Manage a wide network of relationships in the community
– Regularly provides ideas for communication strategy
– Perform other related duties as required
Qualifications and Skills:
• Proficient in written and spoken English and Arabic
• A bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications or a related field is desired.
• Demonstrated social media experience
• Ability to travel and work in difficult conditions and under pressure;
• At least 1 year of field experience in communications / public relations/multimedia;
• Advanced working knowledge of MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Skills in photography, photo editing, and video editing.
• Knowledge of design software is an asset.
• Previous experience in NGO is an added advantage.
• Ability to work with culturally diverse groups of people.
Compliance & Ethics:
Promotes and encourages a culture of compliance and ethics throughout IMC.
As applicable to the position, maintains a clear understanding of IMC and donor compliance and ethics standards and adheres to those standards.
Conducts work with the highest level of integrity.
Other Duties:
Any other duty deemed necessary for the fulfilment of program objectives as discussed with the supervisor.
Ensure application and compliance of security protocols and policies, including the provision of daily updates to the security focal point and supervisor.
