HEALTH PROMOTER IEC OFFICER – Fixed Term contract (3 months renewable, starting April 2024) in Zuwara


Main OBJECTIVE
Implementing Health Promotion/IEC (Information, Education, Communication) activities with patients and local population to raise their knowledge and skills on relevant medical topics.

Main Accountabilities


• Informing patients and communities about MSF and services it provides.
• Assess and analyze the community context (cultures, traditions, habits, health perceptions)
• Support social mapping (villages, populations, access to care) with other teams
• Facilitate community engagement partnerships, messaging dissemination, and community activities
• Assist with conducting needs assessments, activity planning, and preparing HP/IEC materials appropriate to the context
• Provide health and other education sessions as directed (in collaboration with medical team, mental health, and protection), including at different MSF activity sites and to a variety of target groups
• Support health surveilance activities through networking with community focal points; report immediately to PMR any alarm signs
• Support medical activities through case-finding / LTFU tracing and refer back to the medical team
• Follow all MSF Guidelines and Protocols, including supporting full implementation of SV activities, TB activities, etc.
• Collect and report data in a timely way, including preparing monthly activity report for the SitRep
• Support the project needs through other tasks as assigned










Requirements

Education
• Essential : Education in social science, communication, nurse / paramedical, or teaching
Experience
• Essential: Previous experience working with migrant populations.
• Preferable: previous experience in teaching, nursing or social work, community mobilization.

Languages
• Essential languages: Arabic and English. French desirable
